The former Sri Lankan cricketer Kumar Sangakkara has given his consent to join the advisory committee appointed by the Lankan Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara. The committee will work and advise the board regarding uplifting the standards of Sri Lanka cricket.
The decision has been taken in the wake of the turmoil they are going through in International cricket. The minister has also shown willingness to invite Mahela Jayawardene to join the committee.
Jayasekara came to the conclusion of forming the committee after studying all the facts and suggestions at the recently held workshop.
It is also being reported that Hemaka Amarasuriya who was a former President of a Sri Lanka Cricket’s Interim Committee has been named the Chairman of this special advisory committee.
The other members are former captains of the country Anura Tennakoon and Aravinda de Silva.
