After noticing a bank client putting money in his underwear, two Pakistanis decided to attack and rob him, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
On June 12, at around 10am, Indian salesman BK, 62, was asked by his employer to cash a cheque of Dh200,000 in value.
“I headed to bank at Bani Yas Street and collected the cheque. I put the amount in my underwear and got out of the bank. I walked back to my employer’s residence building to hand him the amount.
“As I got into the building, two Pakistanis attacked me with a steel rod and I fell on the floor. I screamed and shouted for help. The attackers got scared and ran away,” testified the victim.
Police arrested OD, 26 and MS, 25.
They admitted to the crime and said that while they were looking for a daily pay job, they saw the victim putting the money in his underwear.
The victim recognised his attackers when shown to him via identification parade.
The court will give sentence on August 18.
